Final Day with Chiara (this time)

"Uncle" Tyler and his friend, Keddiann, came to see Chiara yesterday. They were pretty thrilled with her.Tyler has already figured out the perfect babysitting pose. . .all he needed was a football game on TV and he was set!
She even stayed awake while they were there, which is very rare for her.

Isn't she breathtaking?!!
And, since Tante Shawna lives in California now, I thought it only appropriate that I buy her the first pair of sunglasses. Unfortunately, they're still quite large!
She looks like an angel. She does, however, know how to develop the muscles in her lungs and vocal chords when she is unhappy! All-in-all, though, a cutie and a very good baby.
She likes to snuggle first thing in the morning. Thankfully, that's all I wanted to do with her, too!

Time with Omi and Opi

Omi is loving her time with Chiara. She takes night shift after mommy feeds her, so she's a little tired, but loves snuggling with her!Chiara had a bath this morning with the help of Opi and Omi.
I think both of them are delighted to be here with her.
This is the back of her head, and a little cowlick that's there. Cute, huh?

More views from my window at work

This is my little window at work when I flew from Seattle on a working trip yesterday. And the same view from a passenger's window.
This morning flying over San Francisco on my way to Seattle.

Meeting Chiara Nicole!

The day finally came when I could have my first conversation with Chiara Nicole. And I even had someone get it on camera! Her momma is very good at multi-tasking. Unfortunately, all I can do at this point is stare at her!
She's a snuggle-bunny. That's for sure!
She likes to sleep a lot. I've seen her eyes, tho! Although it wasn't for very long.
The thing that hit me the most is how tiny she is. I couldn't grasp it when I only saw pictures. Now that I'm here, and I've held her, I can see her petite-ness!
This is my hand compared to her.
This outfit is really cute. It's the first outfit that her daddy bought for her when they found out she was going to be a girl for sure. And the socks protect her from her long nails and scratching herself.

Chiara Nicole Again

I know I already told you all about her, but would you LOOK at this face? I mean, who couldn't love a face like this!Thankfully, Omi Doris is with her now, and I can live vicariously through her.

A Week in the Life . . . .

I had a trip through LA to Frankfurt this past week, and so I was able to see mom and take some pictures. This is the morning I woke up to when I was in LA the first time. They were setting up for a wedding back here. Nice digs, huh?!!Unfortunately, Frankfurt wasn't that nice, but the highlight was being able to stay with mom for a night. This is right along the river. We went for a walk and it was a bit chilly, but nice to breathe some fresh air after being in an airplane all day.
We ended up by the old town again. Considering how modern Frankfurt is, I'm kind of surprised to find little places like this. They are definitely few and far between.
The next morning I ordered "Room Breakfast" for one person, and got enough to feed mom and I both for breakfast, and mom's lunch on the train, too! Quite a spread!
Then it was back to LA. We got there right in time for sunset along our drive to the hotel.
We also picked up some flight attendants from Frankfurt to help us on the way back. Because I was staying over night, I got to go with the two of them to the hotel. And they were my photographers on the drive, too, as I was sitting in the very back seat.
A couple fun buildings in LA. Don't know what they were, but I liked the look of them.

So, that was my last trip. I ended it by coming back to San Fran, and calling in sick for the next day of flying. Which is why I'm still here wasting time and trying to get better. Please keep praying for complete healing for me so I can go see my little niece and not have to be nervous about giving her bad germs.

I'd like to introduce you. . . .

. . .to my new niece, Chiara Nicole! She was born this morning at 12:00 a.m. and weighed 6.11 #.
She and mom and dad are doing fine, but a little overwhelmed at the moment. She was a little earlier than expected, and she didn't take long to come. . .just over 3 hours of intense labor.
Thanks to Joy for sharing the pictures with us so we could see them as soon as possible. I, however, can't go see her right now as I have a really bad chest cough. Please pray for quick healing, as I have great reasons to be elsewhere!!!

A birthday party!

Today was my friend, Becky's, birthday, and I was able to sneak into her party for a couple hours. Watched a great B-ball game on TV, too! This is Darcie. She's in my Bible study and a good friend of Becky's from their childhood.
And here's Dave and Becky together. Unfortunately, Dave's eyes don't like camera flashes.
