Another Bucket List Item

Our next day was filled with a visit to this extraordinary place--The Ark Encounter.  There are no words to describe how phenomenal this place is.  If you have a chance to go, DO IT!

The gospel of Jesus Christ is woven throughout the whole experience.  One of these stories involved "doors" and you can find the link to that message here:
We were exited to have made it in the door!

The care in the details in each and every exhibit was astounding.

A view from one end to the middle.  Len is actually inthis picture if you zoom in enough to see it.

They also had a zoo area here because what is an ark without animals?!!

I think this was a version of those who missed the boat......
All-in-all, an incredible sight to behold
Len's favorite part were these pottery lanterns all around the inside of the ark!
God blessed us with a wonderful sunset again that night.

Then we played some rounds of farkle to practice up for Christmas games with the nieces!

Joining Family

After the weekend, we met up with my parents for a few more stops.  We stayed at the Eden Lodges which was a great set up for us 2 couples.

We went to a restaurant that night with beautiful artwork from Ecuador!  Soooo many paintings!  EVERYWHERE!  The food was great, the company fantastic.

The next day we went to the Creation Museum outside of Cincinnati, OH.  SOOO much information, but a few highlights in pictures.

They even had a zoo portion!  These guys would let you pet them. . .if they wanted to.
Again, the scenery was fantastic!

A delightful sunset reminding us of our Creator!

Kentucky Weekend

Len and I spent the weekend of his birthday traveling around Kentucky and enjoying the fall colors.  Everyone told us we missed the peak, but it was beautiful none-the-less!

I'm LOVING the idea of keeping a tree up year round and decorating it for the seasons.  Len. . .not so much. . . .
A favorite activity for the birthday boy--Kayaking!  This one was a little unique, because it was in a cave, or rather an old lime-stone mine, and was mostly in the dark.

It was a fun experience!
I'm not sure where google took us after that, but we had to drive through this one-way tunnel with the car in front of us honking their horn.
It took a couple false starts, but we finally made it to the end!

The next day we went to a horse park in Lexington, also beautifully painted with fall colors.
So, Len's nickname is "Tigg-R".  There was one horse in particular that seemed to have a special bond with him.

As it turned out, we found that she shared something extra special with him. . .his NAME!!
The fall trees were absolutely gorgeous!  They also have a place where famous horses can come to retire.  It was called the hall of Champions
All the other horses were pretty grumpy and tried to nip at us there, but this one didn't mind a little pat.
Len seemed to have a way with a lot of the horses at the park.
It was super fun to be up close and personal with such beautiful creatures of all sizes.
Of course, had to pose with the only horse I had heard of. . .

If you like horses, this one is a fun stop!
