SMT #7

The next morning, the guys pulled out at 0500 to start their 2-day journey back to Houston.  That meant 14 hours on day one, 12 hours on day two.  It was going to be a LONG ride.

The "cage" (car) riders left that morning, too, and took one last picture before our 7 hour drive back to Denver.

And while we were at the airport, the guys were making their way to this particular gas station in Springfield, Colorado, where my cousin and aunt met up with them for a brief visit!

My "coach", Greg, taught me this trick. . .leave one of the MANY tracts on the airplane for someone else to find.
And when I say MANY tracts, I mean MANY tracts.
The flyers got back to the airport late Friday night.  The riders arrived home right around suppertime Saturday night.  It was a great trip.

SMT #6

Our final day was spent on a ride around the beautiful Black Hills, stopping at rest stops, handing out tracts and sharing Jesus with those we encountered.  No salvations for us this day, but we did encourage our waitress at lunch with a tract and a reminder that Jesus loves her.

Our first stop was Lake Pactola.  It rained just a bit on our way here.

Then the sun came out!

Our stop in Deadwood, where we encouraged our waitress.

The final sunset.

And some last minute fellowship under the cross.

We went away, our lives impacted by this fabulous group of people.
That was the end of our time together at the mission at Sturgis.  Hopefully we'll be back!

SMT #5

This day God ordained a "day of rest" for us. . .well, at least a different pace.  We were the kitchen help and stayed close to the mission all day.
Another ministry that people did was helping take pictures at the Sturgis sign, a must for many riders that attend the rally.  Not only would one of us take the pictures, but others would hand out ice-water, pass out tracts, and have gospel presentations, and pray with those who asked for it.  Where is this sign, you ask?  Right in front of the mission!!

We were also sad to see two others from Houston head back early due to health reasons.  CJ and Rob are part of Hellfighters Offroad ministry, and they also joined us for the first part of the week. Many came to Christ because of the ministry of God working through these two men.

Len and I snuck down to the gas-giveaway that afternoon just to take some pictures.  A group of Hellfighters take over 4 gas pumps and give free gas to any motorcycle that needs it, all the while sharing the gospel.  All of the money to pay for the gas is donated by generous sponsors.  And, according to the numbers, this was a HUGE HARVEST of SOULS by the Holy Spirit!  Somewhere around 25+ people prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

Then it was back to the mission for Len and I, working under this dear "boss lady" and her crew.

Len got to use some man-sized kitchen tools!
Always at the mission, there was ministry happening behind the scenes.  A few who needed help throughout the week stuck around to get discipled and loved on by this incredible group of God-lovers.
At least 3 that we know of, came to Christ at the mission.

SMT #4

The next morning our assignment was to hit main street with tracts.  In the process, we met these guys.  The middle man is an associate pastor who works with our former 2 pastors that in the last year went from our church to their church.  And we met on the streets of Sturgis!  We had to take a picture!
Just a small sample of the amount of people that show up here every year.  The number mentioned was 600,000.  This was a picture of main street during the 75th rally.

Our friend, Greg, got a new patch sewn on his hat.  Very appropriate.
More "missionaries" on main street, opening up their trunks and their hearts to those who needed the light.  We prayed with quite a few of them.
That afternoon, Len got to participate in the "Cross Walk", a parade down main street with a see of red-shirts (Hellfighters and supporters) and 3 full-sized crosses.

Every block or so, they would stop, and someone would shout the gospel to the watching crowd before they carried them to the next stop.
This "carrying the cross" impacted Len greatly. . .thinking about his Savior that carried the cross, and watching the faces of those who saw him carrying it.
After finishing downtown, Len joined me out at gospel giveaway again.  There we met Pedro and Carmen, who were both ministered to throughout the afternoon.  Pedro helped us add a little something to the back of our bike. . .
Another rider from Houston added this to his bike. . . .

Another ride back, this time with an impending storm on the horizon.  God answered my prayers to keep us dry on the way back, and it poured right after we got inside!
