Panorama from the Top: Singapore

To celebrate surviving 5 years at United on Feb. 26th, and to enjoy Singapore, I rode to the top of the building you see on the top blog picture.

I think this pretty much speaks for itself. . .double click to see it full-screen!

Another Destination: Singapore!

This was the view from my window, although I had to peek way out the right side to see this.Out another window by the elevator. MANY beautiful churches!
This was how they dried their clothes across the street. This was a HUGE building!! I kept thinking, "What if they drop their underwear???"
Many beautiful buildings.
A cool fountain right outside a mall.
My favorite part: I rode up to the top of a hotel that literally has a ship on the top of it. This was the view. Apparently the building just recently got finished, so it's all pretty new.
My hotel is in this picture! This was across the water. . .there's a little lion spitting water into the bay. . .he's famous there.
Especially for my bro-in-law. . .a soccer field on the water. I wonder what happens if the ball goes out of bounds though???
This bridge is called "Helix", and is the walkway across the water to the hotel with the ship on it.
Kind of a funny cultural thing. . .before you even entered the elevator at the bottom, you got your picture taken against a green wall. As it turns out, you could buy that picture when you got to the top. . .only instead of the green wall as the background, it was the view from the top. . .at night . . .and it cost $45.00. My picture was not that valuable to me. (See that space in the bottom row in the middle? My picture is right above that. . .navy shirt and jeans).
Me walking across the helix bridge. This picture didn't cost $45, and that's the REAL background!!
The spitting lion. . .a little closer.
This was the hotel with the ship on top. I stood right at this end of it!
All-in-all, a great trip, with some fun activities!

Narnia Visits Singapore

If anyone knows me at all, I LOVE the Chronicles of Narnia movies. In fact, they are one of the VERY few movies I will actually go see in the theater. . .usually twice! So, imagine how delighted I was to accidentally find an exhibit in the mall under the Sand's hotel that had actually movie props! I was disappointed to find it cost to get in, but I was able to walk around the perimeter and see quite a bit. I took these from the balcony above the exhibit.I'm looking forward to what they'll come up with next!

Sister Bonding

Graci loves hanging out with CoCo, when both of them can tolerate each other. She is quite the little imitator. She also enjoys skyping with Oma (and Opa, when he's available).
I so enjoy my Tante bonding time with these two girls!

The Final Day in Deutschland

Actually, these were taken on my last 2 days in Germany, but you get the idea. On our way to Funfschilling, one last time, we had a beautiful sunset to drive toward.. . .and delightful food once we got there.
The next day, I met with these sweet ladies, Anja and Carmen, whom I grew up together with. Not the best picture, but you get the idea. We visited Anja where she is teaching at a new music school in Holzen. And then I had to take pictures of the village!
This one's for you, Tante Sandee!

Catching Up. . .Adelboden

I promised more pictures of Adelboden, Switzerland. Here they are! One of the first glimpses of the mountains from the car. This area of mountain range belongs to me. God gave them to me. He told me so!! ;o ) (And if someone ever asks me to marry them, they'll get a ton of bonus points if it is right beside the waterfall that comes over these mountains. Just in case anyone is interested. . . . . ;o )
LOVE the Swiss flags!
One of the many beautiful views from our chalet.
The men off on a snowshoe adventure. . .
. . . while the girls stay home and knit. . .
. . .because it was AWFULLY cold outside!! Notice the frost collected on those hats and mustache! Their water bottles froze in their pockets! We celebrated mom's birthday that night (although it was the next morning) with some cake.
Waking up the next morning, with the light JUST beginning to show itself.
Breakfast in the nook. . .and Happy Birthday, Mom! God gave you (and us) a GLORIOUS day!
Taken from my bedroom.
Taken from my bed. There were 9 windows all together!
Riding up the gondola in the middle of Adelboden.
"I'm on the top of the world lookin' down on creation. . . ."
We skied like girls up there, too!
That smoke in the middle of this picture was a chalet that had caught on fire. . .not good. Our landlord for the weekend told us later that they think it started from a chimney fire. It smoked an awful long time.
Paraglider. . . BRRRRRRRRR!!!!
The boys rode the gondola up (because of time) and hiked back down the mountain.
The girls rode down the gondola, then sat in the sun for a bit outside (or inside) the chalet.
The moon was almost full, as the sun was setting on the peaks. Beautiful.
