I HAVE A JOB!!!!!

Just to let you all know, United Airlines announced this morning that they have enough volunteers to take some time off that they don't need me to do the same, and I still have a job!! God is SOOOOOOOO good! (And that's an understatement).

Apartment Renovations

Although Debee and I have been living in our apartment for over a year and a half, we are still working on making it a home for us. This is the before shot of what we worked on today. . .
. . .and this is what it looked like after we purchased some new things, and made it look a little more homey! What do you think?

FRANKFURT!

Ok, so usually I'm not so excited to go to Frankfurt. This month, however, is very special. For the first time since I started working for United, I actually know exactly where I am flying to from now until the end of September! Therefore, I'll show you a couple things I love about Germany. . . First of all, there's the flowers. These are so inexpensive, and a beautiful addition to every single day you go shopping in Germany.
And this moon was the beautiful scene that greeted me the night I was there last week.

Skype with Chiara

I love modern technology! I'm not sure I could live so far away from Chiara if I didn't have it!

Soul Food

Because I had a few days off, I headed up to Vancouver for a long-awaited, and much needed visit with some good friends. Although I was only there for 2 nights, I so thoroughly enjoyed my time, that I feel like I was there a week. Sometimes nice chats with great friends are just the encouragement you need to keep you going.

My dear friend, Diane, who continues to teach me new things about grace every time I see her.
And a great friend from Bible College, Corinne, with whom I always seem to pick up exactly where we left off, even if we haven't been able to chat for a while. And, to add to the joy. . .
. . .I met little Rachael, who was born two days (and quite a few years) after I was. She was a little hesitant at first. . .
. . .but by the time the evening ended. . .
. . .I think we were friends! I was also able to enjoy some wonderful family time with Corinne's husband's family, and they just happen to have a grand piano (sigh).
Rachael's brother, Nathaniel, is quite the singer for a 2-year old. . .
. . . and we enjoyed singing together.
(I think he gets it from his mommy!)
But then he got bored and started playing with some of the other instruments in the house. As you can tell, there were many!

Finally, the evening ended with a wonderful soul blessing, when the whole family gathered around the piano and sang hymns together. GREAT harmony, and soul nourishment that went right down to the tips of my toes! What a delightful family.

A Potential Storm Ahead

Well, the good news is, I still have a job. The bad news is, because of rising fuel prices, I might lose my job by October 30th. That's the long and the short of it in a nutshell. Please pray with me for three things: 1. That I will remember being in God's will is the safest place for me to be. 2. That I will be able to have peace and still do my best when I am working. 3. That my roommates, who are also in the same predicament, will learn about the peace that passes all understanding. It is a scary situation, and they are pretty shook up about it. I, on the other hand, am really doing ok because I know WHO is in control of the situation.
Thanks for praying with me about this. I'll do my best to keep you posted.
