ZOO DAY!!!!!

Today, for the first time EVER since I moved to DC, I went to the Zoo! I can't believe it's taken me this long, especially since there is NO entrance fee!!!
These monkeys had the most incredible color of fur.
And cute faces, too!
This little gorilla desperately wanted to take a nap, but was having trouble finding a comfortable way to sleep!
God is so incredibly creative with the colors of all His creatures. . .some of which you don't even see because they hide in the jungle!
There truly is a frog in this pic. . . .
These turtles were HUGE!

The big cats. . .I think I'll request one as a companion when I get to heaven.

Not sure how this animal fit in but proof that we were there together!

Madagascar, anyone???

Enter into the world of the AMAZON!  Did you know there's sting rays that live in that river?
My "Brazilian" friend in the Amazon

I was especially excited to visit the Panda Exhibit, and today happened to be the baby, Bao Bao's, 1 year birthday.   (She had a private birthday party for members only earlier in the morning, so we couldn't visit her exhibit at first).
You can see the corner of her "cake" in this picture of her momma

Once again, amazed at the colors of creation!

And, finally, my favorite pose of the day, which also happened to be my last pic.  Then it started raining rather significantly on our way home, but only in spurts while we were there.  I was thankful!

Chilly Concert & Chillaxin'

This last week I went to Seattle. When I got there, I was sweating. The next day, however, we went to a concert and had to bundle up with jackets! Gotta' love Seattle weather.

We finally got warmer when we all got up and danced to the music.

It was a performer just for kids singing silly kids songs.  Apparently this happens every Tuesday in Kirkland during the summer.

After that, we went to Oma's house, and all the girls got a chance to chat with Opa in Germany.  Marina tried to climb into the computer to go and see him!
Even Oma gets on the trampoline when grandkids are involved!
Marina tried out the hammock for the first time.  She liked it!
When it was so hot in the house, a tent got set up in the living room.  It became a great place to play around in.
