Takin' Care of Chiara

I just spent the last week chasing this little one around, and helping Ben and Shar keep their sanity while trying to pack and get their condo ready for sale. I'm POOPED! But what a fun way to spend the week!

We spent a lot of time at the park. . .and outside in general.

We played dress-up quite a bit, too. Well, she did.

Notice the placement of the little toes. . . . :o )!

Finally, in all honesty, it's hard to get this little one to laugh outright. She smiles a lot, and squeals, but its not often you hear a giggle. Catching it live is something to be achieved! Thus, indulge a proud auntie for getting her to this stage!

The Little Composer

So, I was singing a song to Chiara, and then I said, "Why don't YOU sing a song?" She immediately started humming this little ditty that lasted about 30 seconds. . .she was sitting on the couch at the time. Then I got out my camera, and I said, "Can you sing for me again, only this time on the movie?" WELL, she got off the couch, and produced the following, choreographed originally by the little miss. :o )

Life's Blessings

What a blessing it was to have my friend from my church in California come visit! Kristi and I got to know one another in various small groups in our Bible studies. It was a great evening of encouragement. . .for both of us! God's got a great future planned for these two!

A New Addition

Sometimes I just get tired of not being able to make music on my own. In fact, I've been praying about it. This is God's answer. And I am blessed!

You Never Know. . . .

. . .when you fly to Zurich, Switzerland. . .

. . .who might be on your airplane!!!

So, I was doing my final safety checks before we took off, and I hear someone say, "Shawna?!" I look down, and there are Mike and Loralee!!! I about fell over! They were heading home from their summer furlough, and just happened to be on my airplane! As it turns out, we ended up having to do a live safety demonstration, and I was completely flustered during it!!! I completely avoided their eyes! But, I got to serve them during the whole flight, so that was really fun. Anyone else want to come with me on my flight? I'll treat you good!!! :o )

Another Trip to Munich

I got to work another trip to Munich! This time, I was on the executive floor, and when I walked in my room, this was waiting for me!

I took some time to actually walk around this time. It was a little warm, but the walk was well worth it. There are some beautiful buildings and fountains around our hotel.

A Liel Reunion. . .in Baltimore!

Not a whole lot of pictures yet for this event because of all the FANCY cameras that were there that could take MUCH better pictures than I could. (We're all sharing). But here's a couple I did take to wet your appetite. Looking forward to the next bunch!! :o )

A Vancouver, BC Layover!!!!!

So, there's a bit of a story behind this one. . .the end of the month was drawing near, and I only had 66 hours or so worked for the month. Since minimum hours is 75, I was hoping that I would be able to work another trip. I was good for 2 days. When I was looking at the trips, I saw 1 trip that was worth 14 hours. All the rest were for only 10 hours. I prayed, "God, I'd really like that trip if you could arrange it." Then I looked at the destination: YVR!!! Then I REALLY prayed! Long story short, I got the trip! And, although I didn't get to see any friends that live there due to the short notice of my arrival, I DID get to see my old roomie from SFO and give her a couple hugs on my brief layover there. A good trip!

I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel that the bathroom opens up to the rest of the room with sliding doors!!!

And this particular hotel was IN the airport. . .literally. This is the entrance overlooking the airport. I really like the chandelier/lighting thing lining the walkway!
