Layover Fun in Las Vegas

Vegas layovers are always an adventure, but this one was more exotic than usual.  This was the view I woke up to.
The hallway leading to the rooms
Pictures. . .
. . .in the ELEVATOR!!
So much eye stimulation, and this is just while you're waiting for the elevators
The best part was meeting up with a "big sister", one of the ladies I lived with when I was only 10 years old and is still a part of my life when I get a chance to go to Vegas!

Renovation Update

IT IS FINISHED!!!!  My kitchen is finally painted, and a new fan installed over the dining area--SUPER great to have it all looking fantastic!

Layover Fun in New Orleans

I finally had a long layover in New Orleans, a city I have flown to multiple time, but never had a chance to be in for more than a few hours.  This time I got to see the city center, and it was so fun!  This was the view I woke up to, the incredible Mississippi River.

Then I met my crew, and we all went out for a southern breakfast at a local well-known restaurant.
It was YUMMY!!
Then two of us went to find the river-front.  This incredible boat seemed like it was a piece of history right there, and we got to see it take off down the river.
Tourists!
The city was full of art in various forms, even on the light posts along the river.
This square sits in the center of the city, and the photo opportunities abound
We heard this cafe had the best Beignets (Fresh made fried dough rolled in powdered sugar) in New Orleans, so we waited for 20 minutes in line, and it was totally worth it!
Preparing to devour
Devouring!
More artwork. . . I loved all the colors in this one
The famous bourbon street
The bourbon house on bourbon street
A beautiful city and a fun layover!
My absolute favorite was the musical bands playing on the streets.  This one was incredible.

Joni's Wedding

I met up with these beautiful ladies in Wichita, KS, to help celebrate my dear friend, Joni's, wedding.
The sole musician for the whole wedding was the bagpiper!
The groom and pastor #1

CUTE flower girlies!
Here comes the bride and her daddy! (also played on the bagpipes)
In place of the "unity candle", Joni braided 3 ropes together representing the verse in Ecclesiastes 4:12.  It was beautiful.
While she was braiding, her mom read what each strand symbolized (see also braidoflove.com)

Joni's Reception

The reception was held at a local tavern on base, and I loved the simple decorations.
