Whirlwind Visit to VA

God worked it out so I could go visit some friends in VA last weekend in between 2 extra busy weeks at work.  I didn't get a whole lot of rest, but I DID get a whole lot of fellowship!
Joanna and Francis are dear friends from SFO days, and are due to have a baby any day now!  They're also hoping to adopt a little girl, Sammy, from China whom I found out about through a daughter of a friend here in TX.  Hopefully she'll be joining their family in November.
Ginny was my taxi, and she took me to a village called Occoquan  that reminded me a lot of my visits to Harper's Ferry.  It's a really fun village with some great old buildings.

We had dinner on the water.
The next day was the main reason I came. . .Rachelle's baby shower for baby Greyson!  I also got to see some dear friends from my old Bible Study
Aryanne
Ginny (my taxi)
The baby-momma, Rachelle (who is also my talented hair dresser)
Shannon
And the happy couple.  What an answer to prayer this baby is, after the trials of IVF!

Scheduled Munich, but Worked Honolulu???

Welcome to my crazy life!
Ok, this tree is just around the corner from my hotel, and I think every time I stay there, I take a picture of it, but SERIOUSLY!!!  This is incredible.
See that long pier out there with the gazebo on the end?  That was my picnic breakfast destination.
That's where I started my snorkeling session. . .without getting in the water.
Look closely. . .there's quite a few fish in this pic. . .
"One night a man had a dream. . ."--Footprints
Gotta' love nature's exfoliation techniques!
You can see it, but the clouds were incredible.
My hotel is somewhere in the is pic. . .2 blocks from the beach.
The colors.  Wow.
Super fun to visit with a former BFA student, Fiona, and her girlies and Mom.
Baby Audrey was born on May 27th.
I got to hold her during her very first visit to the beach!  ;)

Delayed in MUC

I just got back yesterday from a trip to Munich, where we got canceled, and had to stay an extra day. I took some new-hire flight attendants around for the afternoon after we returned to the hotel.
We rode the train to this village, and got some ice-cream and walked around.
We came across this church. . .
With this beautiful park/cemetery behind it.

It was so peaceful there.
We then returned to the city.. .
. . .and I showed them where we used to stay, and we found a place to eat dinner.

We also came across this other church, much more ornate than the inside of the church in the village.
I always love the organs best.

Seattle Visit

Visiting the Seattleites for both Shar & G's birthdays was pretty fun!  We surprised Shar with some bfast in bed on the first day.
That afternoon, I got to see G play soccer, and she even scored a goal!!
Of course, no visit is complete without a little tea-partying
Here's some pics of the "treasures" they found at the end of a hunt I prepared for them while G & C were at school.

The hardest thing is still trying to get good pics of all three of them in the frame at the same time!
