Unexpected Blessings

The time I spent with Carly and Andrew was added to a special blessing of being able to join Carly on a road trip through Eastern Washington

Which also ended up at a ladies retreat hosted by these lovely ladies.
 In this beautiful setting
We started the weekend with a bit of a plumbing problem, so most of the ladies went to find something to do so the plumber could do his job.  Always time for a photo-op, right??!!
Although there were additions and subtractions throughout the weekend, this is who we started with.
I met this fabulous lady, Crystal, who changed my world, and made my weekend so very special.
One of my favorite times was when we would all sing together.  Sisters in Christ blending in harmony and praising their Savior.  Nothing like it.

Auntie Visit in Washington State

I was able to visit my dear friends, Carly and Andrew, and their little people!!  On the first morning, there, I exclaimed that I needed to find my camera in case anything cute happened.  J immediately sat down and asked me to take a picture of his cheesy grin.  So, I did!
I had some early morning jet-lag issues, but caught this beautiful sunrise one morning.

A was there, too, and took a little bit to warm up to me, but finally did so!
You can tell J enjoys the camera!

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the parents, but that's ok.  My visit with them was super refreshing.  I look forward to going again.

A Visit to the Great White North!

I had a chance to visit my cousins in Edmonton again, and it was super white and super COLD!!!!
I love frosted trees, though.  Even if I'm only looking at them from inside a warm house or car.

This was my favorite hang out
And then I got to meet Oreo when I spent the day with my other cousins
I got spoiled rotten
By these two lovies!
We went to meet Abby, the newest member of  the Kuhn family
Stacy and Kenton are smitten!
Did I mention. . .spoiled rotten ??  (Home-made ice cream)

And a fun time was had by all!

Back to Santiago

I had another trip to Santiago, Chile, this past month, and although I was sick with bronchitis, I had an incredible view of the mountains from my hotel room. Not bad!

Museum of the Bible

Em and I took time to go see the latest Museum in DC today, the Museum of the Bible. There were some really cool exhibits!
This was a mural replica of what Galilee might have looked like, looking out at the see of Galilee.
I took a panorama of the village itself and all the rooms you could walk through.
I liked this history, as well as the idea!
A zoom in to get the placement of other villages on the lake.
It is super close to the national mall, just a few blocks from the Capital building.
A 12 foot picture of an archaeological dig.
The Bible translation room!!!   Exhibiting all the languages there has been partial or full translation of the Bible, and their languages (some of which are original copies!!), and then the yellow ones are all the languages YET to be translated.
Very cool to see pieces of the Dead Sea scrolls. I've heard about these, but never seen any in person.
The "Gutenberg" exhibit area, a German man who invented the printing press and published the Bible for the first time to a wide audience.
A close up of one of the Bibles he did. . .in German, of course!!  What you couldn't hear was that as you walked through the various language displays, there was someone reading Scripture in that language quietly over a loudspeaker
A papyrus fragment found in a garbage dump in Egypt that has pieces of the book of John.
This is the book of Isaiah in scroll form. . .which you can barely see but it was REALLY long!
A fun day, and highly recommended place to visit next time you're in the D.C. area!
