Oh what fun is had when cousins get together!
Love!!!! this picture of Kenton and Kianna (Uncle and niece).
"Helping" Oma Doris in the kitchen. . .or staying close to the goodies to get a snitch!

What a blessing this lady is!
My dear cousin, Chandra, allowed me to have these pictures. Although many pictures were taken, I didn't take hardly any on my camera. I did get one cute one of Kenton and Jalena and I on my last night there, tho'!

A Visit To Pennsylvania

After coming back from Germany, I drove mom and dad to their first stop on furlough in Pennsylvania. The host and hostess, Norm and Sue, were delightful and kept us on our toes with information and FUNNY comments! :o ) Norm was especially kind to take us on a driving tour through Lancaster County (Amish Country) and we saw some wonderful sights.
The fall colors were just breath-taking in the sunshine.
Then, on my way home this morning, I saw this wonderful color combination, and couldn't help but snap a quick picture at a stoplight.
So my vacation is over, and I have been blessed. :o )

Departing Days in Deutschland

I spent my final days of vacation enjoying the weather, even the foggy mornings. There's something soothing about waking up to fog. . .unless, of course, you have to go very far in it! :o )
By later that afternoon, however, the sky was BEAUTIFUL. I took advantage of a gorgeous day and a close proximity to go see my former boss, Susie, in my former village, Marzell.
We went for a walk to look at some fall colors, and to enjoy the Schwarzwald!

Here is a picture of my sweet friend and I. What a blessing she is in my life, even to this day.
LOVE the color contrasts in this picture.
Just as I saw this wall, the owner of the wall came out of her house. I exlaimed how beautiful I thought the wall was, and asked her permission to take a picture. She thought that was fine, but was appalled that there were toys resting on the fountain. I told her it didn't matter!
When I got back to Kandern, I walked home through the golf course. The sun was JUST beginning to set.
Right as I reached Riedlingen, the church bells started ringing, announcing it was 7:00 p.m. and time to head home for supper. So, I did! :o )

A Special Celebration

Today was a special day. We celebrated Jonathan's 16th birthday. He was taken care of by my mom when he was just a little guy, so when I had the priviledge of being here to celebrate today, I jumped at the opportunity!
He had many friends join him, such as Amanda and Micah, also previous neighbors of ours.
We read Psalm 16 since it was his 16th birthday.
Jon's mom, Cathy, and my mom!
Carrie and Paige were also friends from way back.

One of Jonathan's gifts was shaving cream and a razor. . .it's about that time! Micah tried to help him with the placement of the shaving cream. :o )

Destination: EIS CAFE!!!!

It's only a 15 minute walk from our house in Riedlingen to the edge of Kandern, but I got a little distracted on my way, caught up in the beauty that was around me.

I finally made it to the destination--Eis Cafe!! Katie was there waiting for me.
So many choices. . .so little time.
A special and unexpected treat was meeting up with my former student, Avisha, while we were heading back to Katie's house. She's studying to be a Doctor (Cardiologist, hopefully) at the University of Heidelburg. I might have to hook up with her on a layover one of these times!
