My good friend, Gail Palsky (Gailsky) came to D.C. area for a couple days to be with me. I just put her back on an airplane to head away, BUT we had a great time in the meantime!
We, of course, headed into D.C. proper, and showed her all the sights. It was COLD, though, with a super strong wind!
In a sculpture garden near one of the museums. . .a stainless steel tree. It was quite incredible, and looked awesome with the backdrop of white snow and a blue sky.
I FINALLY got to go up the Washington Monument, and see the city at its best! Looking East (toward the Capital Building). . .
. . .North (the White House). . .
. . .West (the Lincoln Memorial). . .
. . .and South (Thomas Jefferson Memorial, and Reagan Airport)!
One last shot. . .and, yes, we were wind-chapped and chilled at this point, and went home very soon after this for warm soup and hot chocolate!
