Contrasts

I don't usually mention stuff like this, but I thought this was kind of funny. On Thursday, I flew through Denver, where it was blizzarding, and we didn't even know if we could fly again once we arrived at the airport. This picture is them piling the snow to move it away from the gates.
I happened to fly through there again on Friday, and it was a beautiful, albeit cold, day, with blue sky.
Today I flew down to LAX in So. Cal. and had lunch outside in shirtsleeves. A great time, and a great end to my week of diversity! My friend, J'aime, came back from Bangladesh, so we had to chat to see how the trip went and show me pictures. :o )

Vacay!!

I just spent a wonderful week visiting some dear friends up in BC. Although I ddin't get pictures of all of them (sorry, Smids!!!), I did get some wonderful shots! Oh, and I had to take one of Chiara, too, since that was my first and last stop on the trip.
Always the little packer. Or rather, unpacker. :o )
My first stop was with the Friesen families, and especially meeting Norm's new wife, Kath!
The two of them are so very happy, and it's so fun to see that.
Matt also was there for a night, and we had a good visit.
They have the same smile, I think!
I think Kath will do just fine in her new family. She sure adds some fun.
The next day, Heidi, and her little boy, Mason, came for a visit to help entertain me. It worked!
Norm's quite fond of his little grandson! But I bet you can't tell!
Now, how can you tell these two belong to each other?!!!
It was so fun to be with them, and meet little Mason!
That little smile melts your heart!
I asked Heids how she ever says no to that face! She said it's awful hard!
Heidi and her husband, Mark, hosted us that evening at their house for a yummy dinner made by Kath.
I then headed to Surrey, and had a chance to see my cousin, Trevor, along with his girlfriend, Kelly. It was very fun to catch up.
Our gathering was hosted by my college friend, Corinne, and her family. This is Nathaniel, who just turned 3.
And this is Rachael, and her daddy, Anthony. I love this one!!
And the two friends, together again!
My final stop was with my dear friend, Carly, who was in my dorm in Germany for one year, then God arranged for her and I to go to the same college the same year, she as a freshman, and I as a senior. It was great to catch up with her again!
This was really a great trip, with lots of fellowship and encouragement. Thanks, everyone!

Chiara-sitting in March!

Chiara's thinking, "I wish I had hair like mommy's!"
Always on the go!
"Helping" Auntie pack.
Then there's always the little things. This time, it was a song composition.

Then there's a little book that she has, in which she can play peek-a-boo with the book. You have to listen close, but that's what she's doing!

Osaka, Japan!

I had another first for me. . .in Osaka, Japan! It was a fun trip. The weather wasn't all that great, but I enjoyed it none-the-less. This was the view from my hotel window.
These flowers were in the hotel lobby.
I wish you could have smelled them! That was the best part.

Every once in a while, we go to hotels and are provided with old computers to use for our benefit. I think Osaka's computers take the cake!
Have a look at this keyboard! It took 5 extra minutes, just to figure out how to use them!

An Adventure Begins!

For J'aime, that is. She is a friend of mine, with whom I was supposed to be flying to Bangladesh with for my vacation this month. Alas, I did not have enough money to do so, but she leaves today on the long journey to get there. I'm so excited for her, and she assures me she will take many pictures for me to look at when she returns! I got to visit her on Monday, and take down some goodies for her to bring to my friend who she's going to visit. May God RICHLY bless her journey! And may I get to go there, too, in the future sometime.

Small Group Date Nite!

Last night was my small group night, and it was "at homes", so we decided to go to a wonderful Italian restaurant near here, that serves it's food family style. It was really yummy, but the best part was the fellowship!!
My friend, Christina, and I.
Tony and Kera. . . . . .
. . .and Leon and Cheryl both got engaged over Christmas, so there's a lot of wedding talk at our gatherings!

Stealing Again.

I know, I know, this is from my sis' blog. But she's just so CUTE! I had to share this!
