Our Little Supergirl!
OK, I fully admit to plagiarism, and stealing from my sister's blog, but this is just too much. I couldn't help myself. I'm sure you'll all agree that this is one that should be shared with as many people as possible.

The Joys of Jetlag
I've actually been to Frankfurt twice in the last 2 weeks. I took some pictures on the layover because it was simply beautiful there!
This little park/pond area is right outside the hotel we stay at. There were iddy-biddy baby ducks swimming there the first time. Two days ago when I saw them again, less than two weeks later, they had grown to twice their size!
Frankfurt is interesting at night. Considering most cities of the world, there actually aren't a whole lot of lights on. The German people are very "green"!
Now, to the "joys of jetlag" I was speaking of earlier. I woke up at 4 a.m. yesterday morning, and couldn't get back to sleep, so I opened my curtains, and saw this glorious sunrise. I tried to capture it in panorama on my camera, but you can't really see them because they are so small. Anyway, I hope you catch the effect anyway.

Then, on our flight back, we had a GLORIOUS view of the coast of Greenland. Again, I caught the views in Panorama, but they don't do it justice being so small. You might want to try clicking on the picture to make it bigger.
Right side of airplane.
Left side of airplane, at the same place.
And, about ten minutes later, the right side again.
And the left side
The icebergs were incredible.

A Wedding Day
I had the joy to participate in the celebration of Alli Graff's wedding, one of the girls I used to live with in Germany when I was an RA. It was a little touch and go to get there, but I made it just in time.
I had a great time visiting with other BFA people, too, like Alli's brother, Austin, and a staff member still at BFA, Renee.
There were actually 4 BFA-ers in the bridal party, (plus Alli, of course). Then there were some helping out in other areas. Andrea (Peck) and Ian Maclurg were there, both helping with the celebration.
The Graff family was all in attendance, except for Alli's brother, Adam, who is training to be in the Marines and couldn't get a release for the day. The were all very pleased, tho'.
Then, Andrea, Austin, Stephanie, and Nathan had a moment to chat. Nathan helped with photography.
But, most importantly, there was the beautiful bride. She was a little teary, but was absolutely stunning. Bennie is blessed to have her. And I was blessed to be a part of it all.
Oh, and these two got married last year. Their wedding pictures are in the older posts of this blog. Still going strong!
I was thrilled to be with my girls, even for the short visits I got in between the busyness of their day. It was such a blessing to be there.
And these two. . .well, they are entertaining. Thus, I put this picture up, even if it is blurry! :o )
This picture was actually the first one taken when I got there, and Austin (the photographer) was good enough to share it with me.
My favorite picture that I took. . .and a perfect end to a wonderful day!

Frankfurt, again!
So, I flew to Frankfurt yet again this past weekend. I got there for the tail end of Father's day, then flew out on Monday. There was, however, some excitement with the passengers and the cockpit of our aircraft! You see, Germany was playing a soccer match in the European Championships while we were flying. The cockpit crew (like they do with the superbowl and other big sporting events while they're flying), kept us all informed of the score, and most were delighted to know that Germany WON the match against Austria! Now its on to more matches getting closer to the finals!

Chiara Nicole in June
This is what happens when you get to the airport before the sun does in the morning.
I had another chance to buzz up to Seattle to see my sis, bro, and niece. This will be the last time for a while, so I snuck up for 2 nights. Chiara likes daddy time. And I'm quite sure it's mutual.
She loves her mommy, too, and likes to snuggle with her.
Then, if she's got the right vibes, auntie gets some snuggle time, too. Those are my favorite!
It is such a joy to see Chiara respond to you. These are just some cute baby-like pictures that happened during the time I was there.
Love this outfit! It's not pink!
And who wouldn't love a face like this?!!
I've heard it said that you're never really smiling until your eyes disappear. Chiara has this down pat!
I am enthralled with all things Chiara. This is her perfect manicure.

Awesome Layover
I finally made it to Rhode Island, and was able to spend a fantastic day with the crew I was going to fly with the next day. We went over to Newport, spent the day walking around, and ended it sailing in the harbour. Amazing!
The street near the pier.
You can take a ride on this boat as a day cruise. It was a beautiful boat.
Eating lunch with my crew: Lisa, Ling, and John.
Some roses along the coast of Newport. There was a 1 and 1/2 mile walk you could do along the cliffs of the coast, so we decided to try it.
Newport is known for the summer homes of the rich people in America. They were quite impressive. Here are two of my favorites. These were along the cliff walk mentioned before.

Then, a definite highlight of the day. . .John knew how to sail, and really wanted to rent a sailboat, so he paid for all of us to go with him! This was our little 19 foot sailboat.
He even taught me how to hold my own a little bit!
It was so great to be on the water with Ling and Lisa.
The faces say it all!
And, yes, we did get a litte damp, but that was all part of the fun!
That cruise boat mentioned before with her sails up.
A lighthouse under the highway.
We sailed under the bridge. . .
. . .then drove over the bridge to head back to the hotel.
We got a little lost on the way, but found this great location of the coastguard next to a lighthouse.
This was a church right by our hotel. I didn't get to see it up close as we were gone all day, but it was pretty to look at when we got back to the hotel, too.
Definitely a favorite layover!
