Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I am home by myself, waiting around to see if I will be needed to fly today. So, I thought I'd take a few minutes to Thank GOD for all HIS blessings during this celebration time.

1.  Thank You that I have a job, and am able to work again after many months of recovery from surgery.
2. Thank You that I have a warm and cozy home to decorate for Christmas today!
3. Thank You for way too much food in the house, for there are many without.
4. Thank You for family time--whether it's a holiday or not.  Thank You that I get to see them so often.
5. Thank You for the gift of giving, and being able to give back.
6. Thank You for music, especially Christmas music!
7. Thank You for warm water to take a shower in on cold days.
8. Thank You for wonderful parents and grandparents who brought me up knowing You.
9. Thank You for adoptive family members who allow me to join in their family celebrations.
10. Thank You for my small group, and the fabulous ladies I meet with there.
11. Thank You that prayer works!!
12. Thank You for many gatherings I am able to go to using my flying privileges.
13. Thank You for great roommates to live with, past and present.
14. Thank You for a car that runs like the energizer bunny.
15. Thank You for my 2 cute nieces. . .and the delights of a 3rd come January!
16. Thank You for authors who write great books, 'cause I love to read.
17. Thank You for helping me survive another re-qualification to be a flight attendant yesterday.
18. Thank You for good travel weather over the holiday weekend.
19. Thank You for the Bible, and that it continues to speak to me and others.  
20. Thank You that I am able to worship in freedom and peace in this great country.
21. Thank You for every military person who is serving and has served our country to keep it that way.
22. Thank You for the opportunity to grow up in Germany and learn that language.
23. Thank You for the ability to play piano again in church on Sunday, and for leaders flexible enough to work with my crazy schedule to allow me to play.
24. Thank You for snail mail and the joy it brings!
25. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, into the world to meet us where we're at, and encourage us to learn to be more like Him.  We celebrate HIM this season.

Another successful fort was built in the Wilcox residence while I was visiting. This time, they wanted to sleep in it, but it was a school night.

There were some beautiful days while I was there. . .look at that blue sky!

Chiara in a Choir

I got to Seattle just in time to see Chiara sing in her church choir! She looked so cute up there!

Beautiful Ballerinas

These two little girls LOVE to dress up, and put on shows. This time, it was a ballet show. Both of them have taken or are taking ballet lessons, so they're actually pretty good!

A Special Visitor

I just returned home tonight from a visit in Seattle with my sweet nieces and their parents. While I was there, I had the joy of seeing Cathy, a very special friend from Germany that I have known for 28 years. She just happened to be there for dinner the night after I arrived! 

Of course, being the extraordinary teacher that she is, she came equipped with her own books to read to the girls, thereby making her a friend for life. :)
