I had the privilege (?) of flying with the paparazzi . . . er. . . my Japanese former flight attendant classmate, Yasu, on my last trip to Frankfurt. Before the flight, he messaged me and BEGGED me to work in the galley in business (which I do pretty much every flight anyway). I told him I would. What I didn't know was that he was going to follow me around with a camera! BUT, it gives me a rare opportunity to show you EXACTLY what I do on most days I'm working. Enjoy!
Our flight was delayed two hours due to huge thunderstorms in the area. We wait with the passengers!
Finally on board, counting the food to make sure we have enough for everyone.
(Insert Picture Pause Here, as Yasu was too busy to take any!!) Then it was on to plating the Entree's. If you look closely, you can see that by now, I'm sweating!
Cheese and grapes, anyone?? My "fancy" set up for course 4 of 5.
And, the grand finale (of that service anyway), the ice-cream cart, with SIX choices of toppings for your enjoyment. Guten Appetit!
Nap time!! or, in my case usually, rest time! Sleep is hard to come by on an airplane.
The final course. . .the perfect cheeseburger. At least, on the way home it is. (Can you tell I'm getting tired of the camera?? :o)
After clearing the airplane, we ride the "people mover" in Dulles to get from the airplane to customs. These buses are ancient.
Do I feel as bushed as I look?? YES!!
There you have it! Trust me. . .it's not as glamorous as it sounds.
