My Kenya Ladies Leave

Today I had the privilege of sending these two lovely ladies from my small group off to Kenya on a mission's trip. I am so excited to hear how God works in their lives during these next few days.
A shot of us together, with another girl who came to send them off.

This is Jax, the monkey.  He's been to Kenya before last year.  He was given to Rachelle so that she wouldn't have to miss her nephew, Jax, while she was gone.  Unfortunately, Jax is already worn out, and the trip has just begun.
See you all in 11 days!

Onkel Tim Comes to Visit

I got some pictures of our day today!
A flower carved in front of the National Botanical Gardens.  I told Tim he could do this!  ;)
A Belgian pub that happens to be Paul's favorite place to eat in D.C.
Nearing sunset along the mall.
Part of the Korean War Memorial
Martin Luther King Memorial
Tim started sketching here. . .
. . .and gathered a crowd of fans. . .
It was fun to see him interact with the students from these schools...once a teacher, always a teacher.
Thomas Jefferson Memorial
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
While we walked through the monuments, Paul drove around and waited for us at the Jefferson memorial.
Loved this sentence about justice by Thomas Jefferson.
Paul waiting for us
Three wise men (including Thomas Jefferson) just hangin' out.
So great to hang out with these guys!  It was a HOT and muggy day, but I think it ended quite nicely.

Chris and Elaine Darling's Wedding

SUCH a fun day to be in New Buffalo, MI, yesterday to celebrate with the Fowler family. And to see some GREAT friends, the Fosters!!
Obviously, we laughed--A LOT!
The altar.
The "aisle"
Debby, the youngest female Fowler
John, oldest Fowler boy
Amy, oldest Fowler of all
Sarah, Fowler #2
Tom, Fowler #5

The groomsmen, all mostly siblings of the groom (there's 7 in his family)

CUTE flower girls, nieces of the groom

My favorite shot. . .the last Father-daughter moment before becoming a wife.  What final last words are being said?  It's just between the two of them.

My little Elaine (who I helped take care of from 9th-11th grade in the dorm)

Every great marriage begins with God as the head.

The view from the cabin looking down towards the water where the ceremony was held.
Another BFA alumni, Chris Faroe!

Amy and her significant other.
Great friends, these two.

Sarah and her 9 week old baby, Matthias
My Wittlingen Fowler girls!

Sent off with sparklers
So happy for the two of them!
