So, it's been a while since I posted anything on the blog, but, believe it or not, I've actually been working!! And on an airplane! For those of you who don't know, the move to Texas has been disheartening, to say the least. Ihave spent entire months only being on airplanes for 8 days out of 30. The rest of the time has been spent sitting in the airport waiting to be called, or sitting at home waiting to be called.
FINALLY I got some trips this month! And they were really fun!
My first fun adventure was getting to see my classmate, dorm mate, and friend, Monique, in Amsterdam. This was actually my second visit there during the month, but my first time with enough energy to do something about it. Thankfully, it was also the day she had off, and she was able to come to me and hang out for the evening. What a blessed visit it was!
My next trip was to Tokyo, where I got to stay downtown in a 6-star hotel (no that is not a misprint), with this view from the lobby. The lobby was on the 38th floor. W.O.W.
This was the view I opened my curtains to once I took a 9-hour nap.
The next morning I met up with Jesse, one of the youth group kids from my church in Montana. He is studying Japanese for a year on an exchange program with his university. He took me to a park where we saw the END of the blossoms. Still very nice, but you could tell they were past their prime.
This was a life-size sculpture of a Blue Whale that was on one side of the park.
Jesse showed me his Japanese expertise by reading the sign underneath it, written all in Japanese. Not bad!
