MUENCHEN!!!

I had my very first layover in Munich this past weekend, although, I didn't do very much at all besides sleep. On our drive to the airport, however, we had the privilege of riding in a double-decker bus, and I sat in the very front on top and took some pictures of the city as we drove by. Now I want to go back and walk around!!! There are some beautiful bridges and paths along the rivers. That's where I'll be next time!

While I was there, I went shopping for postcards. There were two choices. . .either something about King Ludwig (who built Neuschwanstein, the most famous castle in Germany), or this soccer stadium! Since I drove right by this one, I thought I better be a good tourist and take a picture.

A Blast from the Past. . .and New Friends

I had the delightful priviledge of hosting my first dinner guests this evening. My former classmate, Paul, and his sister and friend came to visit. We had a delightful time eating out on the patio surrounded by tea lights. I tried to get a picture of them, but it didn't work very well.
Then we tried one inside. . .that's better!
A little explanation. . .Paul had just said being in the picture was negotiable. NOT! Especially since it was on MY camera and I was the hostess!!! ;o )
He smiled nicely after that!

A SFO Layover

I had a trip to SFO, and got to stay right along the water of the bay.I love these little flowers! They grow all over there. And this was my walking companion, Lucy. (Well, one of them :o )!
This was the other one, my friend, Julie. She came and picked me up in her convertible!
We went out to dinner. . .
. . .and met my roomie, Debee, at In-and-Out! It was great to see everyone!

The Grand Tour

Since a lot of you can't come to my house (although you know you're more than welcome!!), here's a little tour of it!The living room The "pantry" in the kitchen, and dining room.
Our beautiful NEW appliances. . .and they work very well! I just baked zucchini bread last night!
My own personal powder room.
My bedroom. . .the two beds actually make a bunkbed, but since I have room for both, I set them both up as twins for when my girlfriends come visit me! (Hint! Hint!)
My shelves, and walk-in closet. Hooray for books! And the final corner of the room. Not bad, huh? :o )

Coco's Favorite Thing (Right Now)

These pictures might make her face LOOK perturbed, but she is one happy camper. If you ever have a chance to chat with the Wilcox household on the phone, you'll usually hear a cheery, "HI!" in the background. Coco doesn't usually get to hold the phone. THEN, her mama remembered they had their old phone in the drawer to play with.

WELL, THAT was pretty exciting!! (Notice the phone is upside down, with the buttons facing out. . . :o )

Another Visit to my Favorite Niece!

I'm always so facinated by those long eyelashes and baby blues.

One of the many games of peek-a-boo we played. I got this one on camera.

She's liking her tongue a lot when she's pleased.

And this one is purely for my benefit. . .I keep seeing pictures of her, and she looks HUGE, growing like a weed. I had to take this one to gain perspective. . .she still has a tiny backside and little legs that can go like the dickens!

I didn't know which of these I liked better. . .the close up smile, or not watching where she was going. . .you get the benefit of both. Care to vote?!!

A Layover in Sacramento

These first pictures are actually from a last walk I took in San Mateo. . .forgot I wanted to share them with you!
Ok, me, being horrible at geography, didn't realize that Sacramento was the state capital of CA until I got there and found THIS!
It was a gorgeous day, so I sat in the park in front of the building, and read a book in the sunshine. I also had a little visitor. . . .

From Coast to Coast

As I mentioned before, my dear parents drove my car across the country. This is a picture as they are leaving my driveway in California.
And this is a picture of dad in my driveway in Virginia, proof that they did, indeed make it the whole way!
Not only did they make great time, arriving 2 days earlier than expected, but they did so staying about $400 under the budget I set for them. A lot of that had to do with the mileage of the car, which was much better than expected. Had to be a God-thing, I'd say. They were also able to stop and visit with a couple friends along the way, and saved some money on meals and hotels in so doing. All-in-all, I am so very thankful that they had the opportunity and time to do this for me. It would have added a lot of extra stress to my life, that's for sure.
