I had the privilege of staying overnight in downtown, Boston this past weekend on a layover. In fact, I was even there the morning of the Boston Marathon!
Of course, I left before the race started to come back, but I did see a lot of the participants! Especially while walking through the beautiful parks and gardens right in the city center.
I love it when cities take time to make themselves beautiful, so that people can enjoy the outdoors right down town. This garden was breathtakingly beautiful.
I spent some time just enjoying the sunshine for a while. Then I overheard a dad say that he was taking his kid to church.
Having just slept through my opportunity to go to church in the morning (I worked all night), I was curious to see where they were headed. I ended up walking back towards my hotel, where this church had people coming in and out of it. And the church bells were ringing. I took a moment to read the sign, and found out Dr. John Piper was speaking at the service which started 5 minutes later. Amazing. I got to go to church on a layover, which is extremely difficult to do. Not only that, I got to be blessed by one of today's best expositors of Scripture.
This gives me much hope at finding a great church once I move to D.C., which is my biggest prayer request right now. My Abba loves me!!!
