Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from the cutest smile this side of the Mississippi!!

I'm thankful for this little peanut! How about you?!! I spent my day with the McIlvoy family, friends I worked with in Germany when we were at BFA. Don't we look like sisters?

A Day in the Life. . . ..

I tried to upload this with the Sydney pictures, but it didn't work. Now it did! So, here you go!

A Last Minute Visit to Glasgow!

Ok, so WHILE I was in Sydney, my sis was planning a trip down to see me. Long story short, we ended up both heading to Glasgow, MT, the same day I got back from Sydney, to be with my parents there for a long weekend. This is she and Chiara on the airplane with me.
I think Chiara could get quite used to first class flying!
This is "Big Sky Country"!
I had a great time in Glasgow, but forgot to take pictures!!! Unless my niece was being cute, of course! Gotta' love that flexibility!
This is an avacado face after the event. Yum!
Our good friend, Carla. We had a very short, but fun visit with her and her husband, Lyle.
Chiara did so well making her rounds among the many friends in Glasgow. Here she is with Harvey. I lived with their family for a while when I first moved back to Glasgow in 2005.
And, once again, those baby-blues. I think they might just be changing color, tho'!

More Views from My Work Window

I've done this before, but here are some from the Sydney trip. This is the "big bird" we fly over on, taken at Sydney airport. Its a Boeing 747-400.

My favorite--we had a full moon! And this is the shot I got!

Another trip to Sydney!

I had another trip to Sydney, Australia, and enjoyed the sunshine VERY much. I didn't do a whole lot, but had a delightful time. Be sure to double click on the panorama pictures to see them in full-size! After many tries, I finally was able to meet up with my friend, Sylvia, who I worked with in Germany, but who now has returned to Australia with her husband, John. It was great to see her!
When I walked her back to the train station, it was underneath this building, the Queen Victoria Building. Right in the center was a beautiful Christmas tree. It was 3 stories high (double-click to see it better). . .
. . .this was taken on the 2nd story looking up. . .
. . .and these were the statistics. All I can say, is what a LOT of work to decorate that one!
This picture was taken very close to the Queen Victoria Building, but not sure what it was. These purple-flowered trees were quite prevalent!
I had to fly through Sunday church, so I took a little time to sit in this one. I don't even remember what it was called, but I think I'll name it, "The Leaning Church". At least according to this picture! :o (
It was nice to just be quiet for a while in here.
We changed hotels since I last stayed there. This is the new harbor our hotel is on. It's called Darling Harbour.
The next morning, I headed to the main harbor in Sydney, and came across another one of those beautiful trees. There were MANY along the way.
Then I took the long way around to Mrs. Macquaries' Chair. This path is actually named after her.
And, yet another picture of the opera house and bridge, proof that I was there!

Kisses for Omi

This little "kiss-session" happened in Glasgow, but is SUPER cute!

Two Worlds Collide

Last night was an interesting night for me. I had two different events: one was a class reunion from my flight attendant training class, and the other was a Bible study small group that I'm involved in. I went to the first, and saw a lot of people I hadn't seen for over a year, and that was fun.

Then I left for the second group, and got there in time to share what's been going on in my life, and hear their struggles and challenges as we've walked through our Bible study this fall. It ended in prayer, then I headed back to the other party.

By that time, most of the people were drunk, and it was loud and obnoxious. I stayed for about 10 minutes, took a couple pictures, and went home. What a difference Jesus makes in one's life! And I praise God He's a part of mine. I also am so thankful that I have friends in both worlds, because I learn so very much from both. My life is not NEARLY as sheltered as it used to be, and for that, I'm thankful.

Wait Upon the Lord

Well, because of various circumstances in my life, I am not able to vote today for the next president of the USA. In this case, however, I'm not sure what God's will for this country is, so I'm not sure what I would decide. But, I was just listening to some music, and this song by Chris Tomlin came on. It's a good reminder, and what I'm doing today.

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord

Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles

This brought me comfort, and I will continue to pray for this country, and wait on God, no matter what the outcome.
